Shop All Cards on eBayWOTC stands for Wizards of the Coast — the company that produced Pokémon Trading Cards from 1998 until 2003, when Nintendo took over production. The cards made during this period are widely considered the most collectible in the hobby.
If you grew up collecting Pokémon cards in the late 90s or early 2000s, these are the cards you remember. The artwork, the card stock, the print quality — everything about WOTC era cards is distinct from what came after.
At Summit TCG we specialise exclusively in this era, which means better knowledge, more careful grading, and a genuine passion for the cards we sell.
We currently stock cards across the following sets. All cards are genuine originals — no reprints, no fakes. New inventory is added regularly.
The set that started it all. Released in January 1999, Base Set introduced the world to Pokémon cards. Features iconic cards including Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur. 1st Edition and Shadowless copies are among the most sought-after cards in the hobby.
The second WOTC set, released in June 1999. Jungle introduced full art Pokémon illustrations and brought fan favourites including Scyther, Pinsir and Vaporeon to the card game. A popular set for returning collectors completing their WOTC runs.
Released in October 1999, Fossil focused on prehistoric and fossil Pokémon. Home to Gengar, Lapras and Aerodactyl holos. The set has a distinctly darker aesthetic than its predecessors and remains a favourite among collectors completing WOTC sets.
Our specialist set. Released in April 2000, Team Rocket introduced Dark-type Pokémon and a villainous theme that made it instantly iconic. 83 cards including the secret rare Dark Raichu 83/82. We have the deepest knowledge and strongest inventory in this set.
Released in August 2000, Gym Heroes was the first set to feature Gym Leaders from the Pokémon games. Cards are named after their trainer — Misty's Psyduck, Brock's Onix — giving the set a unique identity that collectors love.
Released in October 2000, Gym Challenge completed the Gym series by featuring the remaining Gym Leaders including Blaine, Giovanni and Sabrina. Giovanni's Nidoking and Blaine's Charizard are among the most desirable cards in the set.
